What is ALA?_R3 Wellness Center

Alpha-lipoic acid or ALA is an antioxidant that the body is able to generate by itself before gradually deteriorating naturally. At the same time, our body is constantly producing free radicals as a result of inefficient lifestyles today. Let’s get to know about the ALA IV drip, an antioxidant booster for the modern generation!

What are the benefits of ALA (a concentrated antioxidant) to the body?

Now that we are aware of what ALA is, let’s then get to know the benefits it has on the body due to the fact that ALA is more prominent than other types of antioxidants as it can dissolve in both water and fat. Therefore, it is an antioxidant that is passed on to various cells, including brain and nerve cells. It also helps in other areas such as:

  • Enhances antioxidant function: ALA plays an important role in creating antioxidants to eliminate free radicals in the body. Furthermore, ALA also helps repair other antioxidants such as vitamin C, vitamin E, CoQ10, etc., so that they can function again. Therefore reducing problems of wrinkles, blemishes, freckles and various dark spots.
  • Controls blood glucose levels: a distinct benefit of ALA is the control of blood glucose levels by helping insulin to work better. Therefore, it is beneficial for those at risk of diabetes as well as diabetic patients when used together with insulin in order to control insulin levels and improve its effectiveness. It also helps reduce complications from diabetes, insulin resistance, and drug use in diabetic patients.
  • Anti-inflammatory and helps to eliminate heavy metal: ALA also helps to promote liver function, stimulating the liver to more efficiently eliminate waste and toxic heavy metals from the body, which is beneficial in reducing the risk of cancer.
