Food Intolerance: A Subtle but Chronic Condition

Food intolerances or chronic food intolerances are considered one of the most common types of allergies for everyone due to the lack of severity in its symptoms. However, these symptoms often negatively affect our health in a variety of ways without us realizing that it is the result of intolerance to certain foods or drinks…

What is Food Intolerance?

Food intolerance is considered a mild illness that has the potential to develop into a chronic disease in the future. The scariest part of food intolerance is that these symptoms occur little by little, often making us overlook them as general symptoms that would not affect us in the long run. These range from bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, distension, itchy rash, swelling on skin, or chronic headaches without any known cause. In addition, these symptoms usually occur at least 48 hours after consumption, which is different from regular food allergies which can occur within 2-4 hours. When the above mentioned symptoms come and go without cause, food intolerance is the culprit we do not often think of. Thus resulting in many treating their symptoms indefinitely rather than finding the root cause, leaving our body to suffer from these food intolerances could also lead to leaky gut syndrome and other chronic illnesses such as migraine, irritable bowel syndrome, chronic fatigue, or SLE (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus), all of which have very negative effects on our bodies.

Hidden food intolerances and its adverse symptoms with long-term consequences

At present, food intolerance testing (FOOD IgG Test) has garnered more attention from those interested in caring for their health due to its convenient testing method, and applications to health care plans; testing is done via a blood test for the food allergen, IgG. Results are thoroughly classified as a detailed list of food allergens in order to be adapted to our daily diet for a period of approximately 6 months, or as recommended by a physician to avoid food intolerances as a result of our eating habits. When food intolerances disappear, it is possible that we may be able to go back to normally consuming that particular food without having any allergic reactions. Aside from reducing these bothersome chronic symptoms, it also protects us from serious diseases that could follow on in the future as well.
